Chorlton And The Wheelies

Chorlton and the Wheelies was a children’s stop frame animation from Cosgrove Hall which ran between 1976 and 1979.

The show was set in a place called Wheelie World where all the inhabitants had wheels, two front and one back (this was originally to make the animation process easier). The wheels were replacable and were grown on trees.Wheelie World was rulled by King Ottoi and Queen Doris

The residents of Wheelie World were protected by Chorlton, a fun loving happiness dragon with a thick Yorkshire accent and a nieve view of the world.

Chorlton and the Wheelies were in conflict with an evil witch called Fenella who lived inside an upside down kettle which is called Sprout Hall, she hates any kind of fun and makes it her mission in life to make the residents of Wheelie World miserable. Fenella had magical powers and could teleport with the help of her telescope called O’Reilly and the mgic book Claptrap Von Spilldebeans. Her efforts usually failed more down to accident than anything else.
