ANGELA RIPPON

Angela Rippon started with the BBC back in 1966 working on the Points West regional news programme based in Plymouth. She made it to national news in 1974 filling in for main presenter Richard Baker and later being made a regular presenter. Rippon would later go on to co-present the coverage for the royal wedding between Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.

Angela Rippon is also known for her appearances in the Morecambe and Wise Show and was also the original host of the BBC's motoroing programme Top Gear when the show was launched and only available in the Midlands
