VYVYAN MACKESON

Vyvyan Mackeson was the main presenter of Coast to Coast in the South East of England. She launched the programme in the small former Southern Television studios at Dover. She left after a few months

SIR TREVOR MCDONALD

Trevor McDonald joined ITN in 1973 having previously spent time working for BBC Radio. After spending time as a international and sport reporter he later spent time presenting the Channel Four News before returning to ITV to present the Early Evening News. In 1992 he became the presenter for News at Ten, the role he made his own and would become best known for. When News at Ten was scrapped in 1999 he moved back to early evening news. He retired in 2001 only to return in 2008 when News at Ten returned where he co-presented with Julie Etchingham. He retired again on the 30th October 2008.

SALLY MEEN

Sally Meen started her TV career as a dancer on The Benny Hill Show before working as a continuity announcer and newsreader at local station TSW. When they went off the air in 1992 she presented the weather at breakfast TV provider GMTV followed by two years on the Generation Games along with stints with various cable / satellite channels

GRAHAM MILLER

Graham Miller started out as a reporter for BBC Radio Birmingham and later BBC Radio London. He joined Anglia Television and later HTV West before ending up at Thames in 1983 as sports editor. Folowing the demise of Thames Graham moved to ITN as lead sports correspondant before leaving and undertaking freelance work. He also runs a sports marketing and communicaions agency.

CLIFF MICHELMORE

1919 - 2016

Cliff Michelmore started out in BBC radio before he moved into television. In 1957 he presented the BBC evening news programme Tonight which remained on the air for a decade. Following on from that he presented various programmes including the coverage of the Apollo moon landings. In 1979 he joined Southern Television co-presenting the evening news programme Day by Day with Christopher Peacock where he stayed until the end of Southern in 1981. He later went on to present the last show from the BBC's Lime Grove Studios. Cliff passed away in 2016
