Welcome to our section about those ITV people with a name beginning with O who have bought us the news over the years

 

CAROLINE OLDREY

Caroline Oldrey started her TV career as a continuity announcer for TSW and Anglia where she became a newsreader. Caroline later went on to front the west edition of About Anglia however she lost her job in 2008 due to changes made by parent company ITV in the way it oganised local news. She is now a director at Merlangus Management Consultants.

NICK OWEN

Nick Owen started out as a sports news presenter at Midlands ITV company ATV. He stayed with them and their sucessor Central until leaving in 1982 to do the same thing but for the ITV breakfast franchise holder TV-am. He would later find himself on the TV-am soft co-presenting Good Morning Britain alongside Anne Diamond who he had met at Central. After leaving TV-am in 1986 he later went on to present for ITV Sport before being reunited with Anne for Good Morning with Anne and Nick. Nick currently can be seen back in the Midlands presenting BBC Midands Today

NICHOLAS OWEN

Nicholas Owen started out as a journalist at various newspapers before joining the BBC in 1981 as a reporter for Look North. He moved to ITN and Channel Four News in 1984 as Business and Economics correspondant. He moved sides in 1991 to co-present the ITN Lunchime news. Following on from that in 1994 he became royal correspondant before returning again to the lunchtime news slot in 2003. Owen left ITN for the BBC in 2007 where he presents the weekend news on BBC One and is sometimes seen on the BBC News Channel
