Blue Peter is a long running children's magazine stye programme featuring a number of sections is the longest running children's programme in the world. The show has competitions, crafts sections, celebrity interviews and much more besides. There is a Blue Peter garden which is now at the studios at Salford having previously been at BBC Television Centre at London. Alongside the human presenters there have been a number of animals on the show such as dogs who themselves became household names.

Another feature of the show is the Blue Peter badges, you could get one of these if you had undertaken certain activities, if you did something notable you could get the blue badge but if you had one already and done something a bit special there were other badges you could get such as green for environmental causes. All the badges featured the boat logo from the show which was designed by Tony Hart.
