Worzel Gummidge was a children's drama staring Jon Pertwee as Worzel, a scarecrow that comes to life. It was written by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall for Southern Television and was based on the books by Barbara Euphan Todd. The series differs to the books in that Aunt Sally is Worzel's love interest while in the books she is actually Worzel's aunt.
