Rising Damp was a comedy by Yorkshire Television starring Leonard Rossitor as RIgsby, a skinflint live-in landloard who would not spend out on anything and despised his tennents. The exception to this was one of his tennants, Miss Jones who he was often trying to woo and would eventually nearly end up marrying.
Other tennents included medical student Alan and Phillip, the son of an african chief who would play on Rigsby's racist remarks.
RISING DAMP [TITLES] - 1974
These were the titles to the pilot episode titled "Rooksby". This was a nod to the stage play where Rossitor's charactor was called Rooksby rather than Rigsby that it became for the TV show
