The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures are a series of scientific lectures aimed at children and teenagers (who make up the audience). Each year at Christmas time the institute has a series of these lectures about a different topic infront of a young audience in the auditorium. The lectures have taken place since 1825 and have been televised each year since 1936 (with the exception of during the Second World War).
