Hickory House

Hickory House was a children’s programme by Granada which ran for 129 episodes between 1973 and 1977. While all episodes are in existence they are not available on DVD except one edition on a DVD called Look Back.

The show was presented by Alan Rothwell and featured puppets in the form of objects created by Barry Smith’s Theatre of Puppets. Characters included a bad tempered mop called Dusty, the Handle Family and  a cushion called Humphrey who loved bananas.
